Daily Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Departure & Travel Day Sit back, relax, and leave the driving to us!
We depart from Pensacola, FL, heading west on our comfortable, luxury motorcoach as we bond with fellow travelers and watch the landscapes shift on our way toward the Lone Star State. (Lunch is on your own at an efficient roadside break along our transit route). Tonight, we settle in for our first evening of award-winning comfort in Houston, TX, where we will cap off the night together at the hotel's complimentary Drury Kickback® reception for hot food and drinks.
Day 2: Chappell Hill Bluebonnet Festival & Wildflower Safari
Fuel up with a fresh, hot Drury breakfast at the hotel before boarding our luxury coach. This morning, we step into a quintessential Texas postcard at one of the state's oldest and most celebrated spring traditions. Stroll through historic, charm-filled streets lined with unique arts and crafts vendors, sample delicious local festival food, and enjoy live music, all while surrounded by breathtaking fields of deep blue. (Lunch is on your own to sample the festival's diverse culinary offerings). Following the festival, we will cruise along breathtaking backroads where you can drink in the views of endless colorful blankets of wildflowers stretching across the Texas countryside. Afterward, we head to Austin, TX, for our first of two relaxing nights. Upon arrival, unwind and connect with friends over a hot meal and cold beverages at the Drury Kickback®. A Twilight Mystery Spectacular (Time Permitting): If our travel schedule allows this evening, we will treat you to an unforgettable experience at a secret urban vantage point. Here, you will witness one of Texas's most breathtaking, world-famous natural phenomena as the dusk sky comes alive.
Day 3: Wildflowers, Waco Silos & Mammoth Monument
Fuel up with a hot Drury breakfast at the hotel before we begin our morning with a journey through the state's most legendary floral corridors. You will feast your eyes on a kaleidoscope of colors as we cruise past rolling hills blanketed in oceans of electric-blue bluebonnets, fiery patches of Indian paintbrush, and golden waves of coreopsis. Next, we travel to the ultimate design and shopping destination: Joanna and Chip Gaines’ world-famous Magnolia Market at the Silos. Walk through the beautifully restored historic grounds, relax on the iconic green lawn, treat yourself to gourmet sweets at Silos Baking Co., and discover stunning home decor to bring the cozy farmhouse aesthetic into your own space. (Lunch is on your own at the onsite food trucks or nearby downtown eateries). Afterward, step back in time to an ancient world inside the state-of-the-art climate-controlled dig shelter at the Waco Mammoth National Monument. Stand directly above the incredibly preserved, massive remains of Ice Age giants who roamed Texas thousands of years ago, and listen to the thrilling story of how this prehistoric nursery herd was uncovered. After a full day, we return to our hotel in Austin, TX, just in time to relax and share stories over complimentary food and beverages at the Drury Kickback®.
Day 4: Scenic Highway Cruise & A Southern Mystery Stop
Enjoy a hot Drury breakfast before boarding the coach. We say goodbye to Austin and connect directly with the interstate highway corridor, heading east toward Louisiana bayou country. (Lunch is on your own at an efficient roadside break along our transit route). Mystery Stop: If time permits, this afternoon our luxury coach heads off the beaten path for a highly classified mystery stop! We are keeping this hidden gem completely under wraps, but we promise a fun, unique taste of local heritage and a delightful toast to our incredible journey. We arrive early at our final hotel destination, the Drury Inn & Suites Lafayette. You will have plenty of time to unpack before heading down to the lobby together to enjoy the complimentary Drury Kickback® reception featuring hot food and cold drinks.
Day 5: Tabasco Factory Tour & Journey Home
Fuel up with one final hot Drury breakfast before boarding our luxury motorcoach for the return trip home. We spice up our final morning with a fascinating tour of the world-famous TABASCO® Brand Factory Tour & Museum on Avery Island, Louisiana. Explore the pepper greenhouse, smell the rich oak barrels where the mash ages for years, and sample fiery flavors at the tasting bar. Following our exploration, (lunch is on your own at the onsite TABASCO® Restaurant 1868!, a casual cottage-style eatery right on campus serving up spicy, authentic Cajun favorites like crawfish étouffée and pepper jelly boudin). With memories made and souvenirs packed, our luxury coach turns east on I-10. We will share a relaxing drive back to Pensacola, FL, swapping contact information and sharing favorite memories with newfound friends along the way.
