SMOKEY MOUNTAIN OKTOBERFEST

Every great tour needs a bit of mystery and our upcoming journey to the Smokey Mountains is no exception. To make this experience truly unique we have included a few surprise stops into the schedule that will only be revealed as we reach them.


 October 22, 2026 (Thursday)

We begin our journey with a travel day to Chattanooga, TN. Upon arrival at our overnight hotel, guests will enjoy a light dinner and drinks at the hotel (included)

 

October 23, 2026 (Friday)

After breakfast (included) we check out of the hotel and depart for the Children's Holocaust Memorial and Paper Clip Project (Whitwell, TN)  Visit this powerful and moving memorial located at Whitwell Middle School. Housed within an authentic German transport car from the era, the site features millions of paper clips collected by students to represent the lives lost during the Holocaust, offering a profound lesson in history and tolerance.


Enjoy a fast food lunch on your own and then we continue our journey to visit Fort Loudoun State Historic Park (Vonore, TN)   Step back into the 18th century at this reconstructed British fortification. Located on a scenic peninsula, the site offers a glimpse into the struggles between the British, French, and Cherokee nations during the French and Indian War, complete with living history demonstrations and beautiful views of Tellico Lake.


Our group will overnight (2-nites) in Kodak, TN. Tonight we will have dinner (included) at Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud (Pigeon Forge, TN)   Experience an action-packed outdoor show featuring world-class lumberjacks competing in high-energy events like log rolling, speed climbing, and axe throwing. It is a thrilling, family-friendly display of skill and strength.


October 24, 2026 (Saturday)

Following breakfast (included) we will tour the  Bush’s Visitor Center (Dandridge, TN)

Explore the flavorful history of a family-owned staple at the Bush’s Beans Museum. Guests can walk through a giant can of beans, track the company’s timeline from 1908 to today, and enjoy lunch on your own at the Bush Family Cafe.


Next stop is the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair (Gatlinburg, TN)

This premier event showcases the work of hundreds of the nation’s finest artists and craftspeople. From handmade pottery to intricate woodworking, visitors can watch live demonstrations and purchase unique, one-of-a-kind treasures.  Enjoy Dinner (included) on our way back to the hotel.


October 25, 2026 (Sunday)

After an included breakfast, we check out of the hotel and travel to the Elkmont Historic District (Great Smoky Mountains National Park)   Wander through the "ghost town" of the Smokies, where preserved summer cottages and the Appalachian Clubhouse tell the story of an early 20th-century resort community. It is a peaceful, nostalgic walk through the region's vacation history.


Our next stop is the  Mingus Mill (Great Smoky Mountains National Park)

Observe the impressive engineering of this historic turbine-powered grist mill.                         Built in 1886, the mill is still operational today.


Lunch today (included) is at the famous Dillard House (Dillard, GA)

Enjoy a legendary Southern culinary experience at this historic inn. Famous for its generous, family-style meals, the restaurant serves up classic comfort food made from recipes passed down through generations, all set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.


We overnight in Helen, GA - Free time to attend the Helen Oktoberfest.  Join the longest-running Oktoberfest in the United States in a charming Alpine-style village. The celebration features traditional German music, dancing, food, and beverages, bringing the spirit of Bavaria to the North Georgia mountains. Dinner on your own at the Oktoberfest.


October 26, 2026  (Monday)

Following breakfast (included) we check-out of our hotel and tour the Consolidated Gold Mine (Dahlonega, GA)  Go underground to explore the site of America’s first gold rush. Guests can tour the tunnels of a real 19th-century mine and try your hand at gold panning Before we begin our journey back to Pensacola.
